Monster Hunter Wilds February Open Beta Features New Monsters and Content

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? A second chance arrives in early February, bringing new content and features! This extended beta test allows players another opportunity to experience the game before its official launch on February 28th, 2025.

New Monster, New Hunt

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the second Open Beta Test in a recent YouTube video. The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This time, players can hunt the Gypceros, a familiar foe from previous Monster Hunter games—a significant addition not included in the first beta. While character data from the initial beta will carry over and transfer to the full game, progress won't be saved. However, participants receive in-game rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm, a Seikret item, and a special bonus item pack for the full game.

Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating the team heard player requests for another chance to play and to address feedback from the first test. While recent community updates detailed planned improvements, these changes are still under development and won't be included in this beta.
