EA Closes

EA's The Simpsons: Tapped Out is shutting down after a twelve-year run. This beloved city-building mobile game, initially launched in 2012 on Apple's App Store and 2013 on Google Play, will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024. Servers will finally be switched off on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases are already disabled.

The End of an Era

EA expressed gratitude to its players in the sunset announcement, acknowledging the over-decade-long partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company that allowed players to create their own versions of Springfield.

One Last Chance to Play?

If you've never experienced the game, here's a quick overview. You take control of Springfield's reconstruction after Homer's accidental nuclear meltdown. Rebuild the town, manage characters like Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Fat Tony, and even expand to Springfield Heights and run the Kwik-E-Mart. The game is freemium, featuring regular updates tied to the show and real-world events. Donuts serve as the in-game currency to accelerate progress.
