Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The first Developer Direct debuted in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024. Maintaining this schedule, the 2025 edition will air at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.

Spotlight on Confirmed Titles:

The showcase will feature three confirmed titles. South of Midnight, a stylish action-adventure from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), initially announced in June 2023, may finally receive a release date. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release, is also confirmed and will be a day-one Xbox Game Pass title. Lastly, id Software's Doom: The Dark Ages, revealed in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024, is rumored for a mid-2025 launch.

Beyond the Confirmed:

While only three titles are officially confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple games. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to follow suit, potentially unveiling additional surprises.
