Team Ninja Celebrates 30 Years with Ambitious 2025 Plans

Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja, renowned for franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, is gearing up for a significant 30th-anniversary celebration in 2025. Beyond its flagship titles, the studio has also achieved success with soulslike RPGs such as the Nioh series and collaborations with Square Enix (Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty). The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further showcased their versatility in the action RPG genre.

In a recent interview, Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda hinted at exciting releases planned for their anniversary, promising titles "fitting for the occasion." While specifics remain scarce, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden series.

Looking Ahead to 2025: Potential Releases

The anticipation is palpable, especially given the recent announcement of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound at The Game Awards 2024. This side-scrolling title aims to revitalize the franchise, blending classic 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements. This marks a significant return for the series, following the divisive 2014 release of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The future of the Dead or Alive franchise is also a key point of interest for fans. With no mainline entry since 2019's Dead or Alive 6, a new installment would be a fitting anniversary tribute. Similarly, a new entry in the popular Nioh series is highly anticipated.

Team Ninja's 2025 plans remain shrouded in mystery, but the promise of anniversary releases fuels excitement among fans eager to see what the studio has in store. The coming year promises to be a significant one for this influential game developer.
