Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of last year's Helldivers 2, is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan feedback.

Community suggestions ranged from a Smash TV remake to a Star Fox-inspired title. Pilestedt confirmed that a Smash TV remake has been internally discussed and hinted at a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail shooter" genre.

While specifics remain under wraps, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next venture.

A recent update for Helldivers 2 has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, a surprise release at the 2024 Game Awards, introduced the highly anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. This, coupled with rumors of a Killzone crossover, positions Helldivers 2 for continued success in 2025. The player response to the update has been overwhelmingly positive.
