Subway Surfers City Soft-Launches on iOS and Android

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 22,2025

Surprise! Sybo Games has quietly released a new Subway Surfers title for iOS and Android! This sequel, Subway Surfers City, boasts improved graphics and many features added to the original game over the years. It's currently in soft launch, available in select regions.

This Friday brings a welcome surprise for mobile gamers: a new game from the creators of Subway Surfers. While we haven't played it yet, app store listings reveal a lot.

Subway Surfers City appears to be a direct sequel, addressing the aging aspects of the original 2012 release. Expect familiar characters, updated hoverboard mechanics, and significantly enhanced visuals.

The soft launch rollout is currently limited: iOS users in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines can download it. Android users can access it in Denmark and the Philippines.

A Bold Move

Sybo's decision to create a sequel to its flagship title is a gamble. The original game's Unity engine is showing its age, restricting development possibilities. The stealth launch is an unusual strategy, especially given the game's global popularity.

We're eager to see player reception and the full release date. Hopefully, Subway Surfers City will meet—and exceed—expectations.
