Strategy Game Battledom Now in Alpha Testing

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 16,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom introduces flexible RTS battle mechanics, enabling players to freely maneuver units across the game map. Players will directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay.

Players will use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, units can be customized with a variety of weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering is key. Players will collect materials such as wood, leather, and coal to craft these upgrades within their village. Blacksmiths, magicians, and other crafters will assist in the creation process.

Frenken is widely recognized for Herodom, which holds a 4.6 App Store rating. Boasting over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles, Herodom also offers progression rewards like new hairstyles, bodies, crops, and farm animals.

Interested players can participate in the Battledom alpha test by downloading TestFlight on their iOS devices. For further information and updates, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit. His other games are also available on the App Store.
