1047 Games, the creators of the wildly popular Splitgate, have unveiled their highly anticipated sequel: Splitgate 2. Launching in 2025, this free-to-play arena shooter promises a fresh take on the "Halo meets Portal" formula that captivated millions.

A Familiar Foundation, Reimagined

The July 18th cinematic trailer showcased a visually stunning evolution. CEO Ian Proulx emphasized a long-term vision: "building a game that can last a decade or more." This ambition led to a complete re-evaluation of core mechanics. Hilary Goldstein, Head of Marketing, explained the refined portal system, aiming for a balance where skilled players can truly excel without making portal use mandatory for success.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Splitgate 2 retains familiar elements but promises a completely revamped experience. Key features include a new faction system and cross-platform play across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
