Pokemon GO's GO Tour: Unova Event Brings Black and White Kyurem

Get ready, Pokémon GO trainers! Black and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokémon GO as part of the global GO Tour: Unova event, running March 1st and 2nd. These legendary Pokémon will be available in raids, offering a chance to catch their shiny variants. The event also features special in-game backgrounds inspired by the original Pokémon Black and White games.

The arrival of Black and White Kyurem has been highly anticipated by fans. Following an accidental early release in 2023, their official debut has been eagerly awaited. Their introduction promises a significant shift in the game's competitive landscape.

Niantic's announcement confirms the legendary duo's appearance during the GO Tour: Unova event, a fitting location given the event's focus on the Unova region. Trainers can participate in raids to encounter and capture Black and White Kyurem, including their elusive shiny forms. The event runs globally from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on March 1st and 2nd.

Fusion Frenzy: Creating Black and White Kyurem

Similar to last year's Necrozma fusion, players can fuse Kyurem with other legendary Pokémon. Black Kyurem fuses with Zekrom using 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy, learning the move Freeze Shock. White Kyurem fuses with Reshiram using 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy, learning Ice Burn. These fusions are reversible at no cost. The required Fusion Energy is obtained by defeating Kyurem in raids.

Event Exclusive Backgrounds

In addition to the legendary Pokémon, the GO Tour: Unova event offers unique rewards. Two special backgrounds, themed after Pokémon Black and White, will be available. Successfully fusing Black Kyurem with Zekrom or White Kyurem with Reshiram unlocks these backgrounds, with a bonus background awarded for completing both fusions.
