Pirates Outlaws 2 Announced: Fabled Returns with Swashbuckling Sequel

Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, the highly anticipated sequel to Fabled Game Studio's 2019 hit, Pirates Outlaws, is setting sail! This enhanced roguelike deck-builder promises a thrilling return to the high seas, boasting significant improvements over its predecessor. Scheduled for a 2025 release on Android, iOS, Steam, and Epic Games Store, the game is currently undergoing an open beta test on Steam from October 25th to 31st. Mobile players will need to wait a little longer for their chance to embark.

What Awaits in the Sequel?

Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a new protagonist, whose story unfolds years after the events of the original game. Players will begin with pre-built decks and unique ability cards. But the enhancements don't stop there.

A key addition is the companion system, bringing unique cards and strategic depth. A novel card fusion mechanic allows players to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version.

Deck progression is handled via an evolution tree, offering customizable upgrades. Even previously discarded cards can be enhanced. Relic acquisition has been revamped; they are now found in markets, after boss battles, and during special events, rather than after every fight.

Combat features a new Countdown system impacting enemy actions. Instead of an "End Turn" button, players will utilize a "ReDraw" mechanic. A fresh armor and shield system further adds to the strategic gameplay.

Prepare to Set Sail! ---------------------

Despite the numerous additions, the core gameplay of Pirates Outlaws remains intact. Players will still engage in deck-building, navigate treacherous seas, and conquer the Arena and Campaign modes. Familiar elements such as ammo management, melee-ranged-skill card combinations, curses, and diverse enemy races are all returning. For more details, visit the official website.
