The Realmgate is a pivotal endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes, accessing it doesn't involve Waystones. This guide explains the Realmgate's location, usage, and what awaits beyond. Preparation is key to maximizing its potential.

How to Locate the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is situated adjacent to your mapping phase's starting point. The fastest way to return is by clicking the home icon (pictured above) on the mapping screen. This centers the screen on the initial mapping location. The Realmgate is positioned near the stone Ziggurat.

The home icon might sometimes overlap with the red skull icon (Burning Monolith location). These points are usually close; locating one reveals the other.

Utilizing the Realmgate in PoE 2

Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its function is to transport players to endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Four Pinnacle bosses currently utilize the Realmgate:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300 Breach Splinters to forge a Breachstone. Activate the Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79+ Logbook (obtained from Expeditions) by interacting with Dannig in your Hideout. Dannig appears randomly during Expedition maps, alongside other Expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen), after which he becomes a permanent Hideout resident.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300 Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. This generates a map with 15 waves of Delirium enemies—ideal for mapping builds.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item from the Ritual Favour system using Tribute. Use it at the Realmgate to initiate this fight.

Note: The Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal (found at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively) are endgame bosses not accessed via the Realmgate.

The Arbiter or Ash, the ultimate Pinnacle boss, resides within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Three Citadel keys (obtained through a quest triggered upon your first Burning Monolith encounter) are needed to access this fight.
