Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition

TouchArcade Rating

This month's Marvel Snap (Free) meta is surprisingly balanced, but the new season introduces fresh cards and the "Activate" ability, promising significant shifts. While some Young Avengers cards haven't drastically altered the landscape, the Amazing Spider-Season and its associated mechanics are already making waves. Let's explore some top-performing decks, including some more accessible options. Remember, meta decks are fluid; these are snapshots of current power.

Note: Most decks assume a complete card collection.

Top Tier Decks:

Kazar and Gilgamesh

Kazar and Gilgamesh Deck

  • Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird

This surprisingly strong Kazoo variant leverages Young Avengers synergies. Low-cost cards are buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel, with Marvel Boy providing additional boosts. Kate Bishop offers Dazzler support and reduces Mockingbird's cost. Gilgamesh thrives in this high-buff environment.

Silver Surfer Still Never Dies, Part II

Silver Surfer Deck

  • Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool

The enduring Silver Surfer deck receives minor adjustments. Nova and Killmonger provide early-game boosts. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw benefits from buffs, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secures late-game dominance. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.

Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing

Spectrum and Man-Thing Deck

  • Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum

The Ongoing archetype remains competitive. Spectrum provides a powerful final-turn buff to Ongoing cards. Luke Cage and Man-Thing synergize effectively, with Luke protecting cards from US Agent. Cosmo's utility is expected to increase. This deck's ease of play is a significant advantage.

Discard Dracula

Discard Dracula Deck

  • Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse

A classic Apocalypse Discard deck, featuring the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for a final-turn Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector can provide unexpected value.

Destroy

Destroy Deck

  • Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death

The Destroy deck remains largely unchanged, with Attuma's buff making him a valuable addition. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, utilizing X-23 for energy generation, and finishing with Nimrod or Knull. The absence of Arnim Zola reflects the increasing prevalence of counter-measures.

Fun & Accessible Decks:

Darkhawk Is Back (Did He Ever Leave?)

Darkhawk Deck

  • Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature

A fun Darkhawk-centered deck featuring Korg and Rockslide for deck manipulation, along with disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova, and discard effects to reduce Stature's cost.

Budget Kazar

Budget Kazar Deck

  • Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught

A beginner-friendly Kazar variant, teaching the core combo mechanics without requiring rarer cards. It lacks the consistency of the top-tier version but offers valuable learning experience.

The meta is dynamic; the "Activate" ability and Symbiote Spider-Man are expected to significantly impact October's meta. Enjoy the current state of the game!
