GTA V Enhanced: 10 Years of Visual Evolution

The much-anticipated PC release of *Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced*, Rockstar's next-generation update to the iconic open-world game, is now available. This enhanced version offers PC gamers a significantly upgraded experience, featuring notable graphical enhancements and new functionalities such as full DualSense controller support.

Key improvements include ray-traced reflections, updated vehicle designs, and numerous smaller tweaks that enhance the game's overall visual quality. The popular YouTube channel, GameV, recently posted a side-by-side comparison video that showcases the graphical evolution from the original release over the past 12 years. The enhancements are most striking during rainy nights or in shadowy areas, where the advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections create a stunning visual impact. However, under sunny conditions, the differences between the original and enhanced versions become less noticeable.

Despite a strong launch, with over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam—surpassing the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard edition—the reception has been mixed. Currently, the game holds a 56% positive review rating on Steam. Some players have questioned the need for this update, citing the relatively subtle visual enhancements. Additional criticisms include issues with DualSense controller functionality and glitches encountered during the transfer of characters from the original *GTA Online*. While some users have successfully transferred their characters, others report ongoing bugs.
