Neil Druckmann's highly anticipated Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has finally revealed some intriguing details about its setting, unveiled during a recent Creator to Creator show appearance. The game plunges players into an alternate future diverging from our own timeline in the late 1980s. Central to the narrative is a new, dominant religion that emerges within the Intergalactic universe. Naughty Dog has invested years crafting this religion's rich lore, meticulously detailing its origins, the evolution of its prophet, and the subsequent distortions it undergoes.

This religion's birthplace and initial spread are confined to a single, isolated planet, eventually becoming completely severed from the rest of the galaxy. The game's protagonist crash-lands onto this very planet, finding herself utterly alone and facing a desperate struggle for survival. This solitary survival forms a core theme of the project, a stark contrast to previous Naughty Dog titles which often featured companions. In Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, players must navigate this alien world and unravel its mysteries entirely independently, their escape from the planet hanging in the balance.

Despite four years of development, a release date remains elusive. For now, fans eagerly await further announcements.
