Remedy Entertainment Unveils Development Updates for Upcoming Titles
Remedy Entertainment recently shared progress updates on several anticipated projects, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2, and Codename Condor, in their latest financial report. These updates provide insights into the development stages and Remedy's overall publishing strategy.
Control 2 Nears Completion
Control 2, the sequel to the popular 2019 title, has reached the "production readiness stage." This signifies the game is fully playable, and the development team is now focused on scaling up production, including extensive testing and performance optimization to ensure it meets quality standards. Additionally, the Control Ultimate Edition, developed in partnership with Apple, is slated for release on Apple silicon Macs later this year.
Codename Condor in Full Swing
Codename Condor, the Control universe multiplayer spin-off, is currently in full production. The team is actively developing multiple maps and mission types, with internal and limited external playtesting underway to gather feedback. This marks Remedy's entry into the live-service game market, and it will be released using a "service-based fixed price" model.
Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne Remake Progress
Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansion has received positive critical and fan reception, and the game itself has already recouped most of its development and marketing costs. A physical Deluxe Edition will launch on October 22nd, followed by a Collector's Edition in December. Pre-orders are available on the official website.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 remake, a co-production with Rockstar Games, has transitioned from production readiness to full production. The team is working on a complete, playable version, focusing on unique gameplay features to differentiate the remake.
Future Focus on Control and Alan Wake Franchises
Remedy has acquired full rights to the Control franchise, giving them complete control over its future. They are exploring self-publishing and potential partnerships for both Control and Alan Wake, aiming to reveal more details on their publishing strategy by year's end. The company emphasizes the importance of these two franchises within their Remedy Connected Universe.
Remedy plans to share further updates on their future plans for the Control and Alan Wake franchises, along with additional development news on their upcoming games throughout the year.
