If you’re among the many who have recently enjoyed a cinematic outing to see A Minecraft Movie, you'll surely recall Jack Black’s memorable and brief song celebrating the "lava chicken" moment around the midpoint of the film.

In the movie, Black, portraying Steve, performs a song titled "Lava Chicken" while Jason Momoa and other characters witness a chicken being cooked by falling lava. Despite its brevity at just 34 seconds, the song has quickly become a viral sensation across social media platforms.

Remarkably, "Lava Chicken" has made its debut at No. 21 on the UK's official chart, marking it as the shortest song ever to achieve such a feat. The UK’s digital entertainment and retail association, ERA, commented that "Streaming + virality are reshaping hits," highlighting the impact of digital media on music charts.

PlayJack Black is no newcomer to creating viral hits from video game movies. His performance of "Peaches," a 95-second romantic ode to Princess Peach from *The Super Mario Bros. Movie*, which he both sang and co-wrote, secured a spot on the Billboard Hot 100. This marked the first time Black had a solo entry on the chart, having previously reached No. 78 with the 2006 song "*The Pick of Destiny*" as part of Tenacious D.

Other notably short songs that have charted include the 64-second "Spider Pig" from the 2007 Simpsons Movie and Liam Lynch’s 2002 punk hit "United States of Whatever," which clocks in at 86 seconds.

"Lava Chicken" isn't the only element from A Minecraft Movie to capture the internet's attention. Clips of enthusiastic moviegoers have spread rapidly on platforms like TikTok, with some even bringing live chickens to screenings.
