A Sony property is crossing over into a Microsoft game, marking an exciting collaboration between Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2. The Lightbearer cosmetics set introduces a variety of new items to Sea of Thieves, including flags, ship cosmetics, and a costume set inspired by Destiny 2. The trailer for this new set showcases numerous Destiny references, from the Drifter's outfit to a ghost hanging off the front of a ship. Players can explore these options at the Pirate Emporium, where they can fully customize their ship and sailor with Destiny-themed cosmetics.

PlaySea of Thieves expanded its reach to PlayStation last year, joining other Microsoft titles on Sony's console. Destiny 2, developed by Bungie, has remained on Xbox even after Sony's acquisition of the studio. This crossover blurs the lines between consoles but adds a fun twist, with the Drifter's outfit fitting seamlessly into the pirate-themed world of Sea of Thieves.

Season 15 of Sea of Thieves has recently launched, bringing new encounters, voyages, and content to the game. Rare's title has not only maintained its popularity but also achieved success on the PlayStation 5, topping an EU sales chart upon its release on the platform.

Meanwhile, Destiny 2 has released the Heresy expansion and continues to evolve following the narrative climax of The Final Shape. The game has also engaged in other crossovers, notably with Star Wars.

Both Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 have successfully navigated the dynamic landscape of live-service gaming, making this crossover a delightful surprise for fans. The Destiny 2-inspired cosmetics are now available in Sea of Thieves, and while it's unclear if Sea of Thieves content will appear in Destiny 2, the idea of a pirate ship in space is an intriguing prospect worth considering.
