How To Get the A Prize Held High Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 14,2025

Hunting behemoths isn't the only way to enjoy Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. For those seeking the "A Prize Held High" trophy or achievement, the key isn't slaying dragons, but capturing a much smaller—yet surprisingly elusive—creature: the Curioshell Crab. This little crustacean is the target of this seemingly misleading trophy.

Finding this speedy crab can be tricky, as it appears in various locations across the game's maps. However, we've found the Scarlet Forest to be a reliable hunting ground. Specifically, head to Area 6: Flowering Rocks pop-up camp (located between Areas 2 and 6). Near the water puddle in this area, the Curioshell Crab frequently spawns. If you're having trouble spotting it, keep an eye out for Alma's dialogue; she'll mention a creature carrying something, indicating a nearby Curioshell Crab.

Equip your Capture Net, aim for the crab (the reticle will turn orange when you're ready), and snag it! A successful capture will reward you with both the Curioshell Crab and an Ancient Wyvern Coin. Remember, the Curioshell Crab is quick, so anticipate its movements and aim ahead of its path for a better chance of capture.

While the Scarlet Forest (Area 6 and Area 8) offers a high chance of finding the Curioshell Crab, it can also appear in other areas, including Area 13 of the Windward Plains. These locations represent our testing results; further exploration may reveal additional spawning locations.

That's all you need to know about obtaining the "A Prize Held High" trophy/achievement in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. For more Monster Hunter guides and news, check out The Escapist.
