Voltorb & Hisuian Voltorb Spotlight Hour

Mark your calendars! The Spotlight Hour runs from 6 PM to 7 PM Local Time on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. This week's stars are Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, offering double the Shiny-hunting opportunities. Both Pokémon are valuable additions to your team, delivering powerful electric attacks.

Prepare for a busy hour! Stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense, as you'll be catching twice the Pokémon. These items boost your chances of catching Shiny versions and successfully evolving them. Also, clear some space in your Pokémon storage – you'll be catching a lot!

Voltorb (#100 in the Pokédex), a Kanto region Pokémon, is a two-stage evolution. Catching it rewards you with 3 candies and 100 Stardust. It evolves into Electrode using 50 candies. With a max CP of 1141, 109 Attack, and 111 Defense, Voltorb packs a punch. Remember, it's an Electric-type, taking increased damage from Ground-type attacks (160%) and reduced damage from Electric, Flying, and Steel types (63%). The optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge (5.81 DPS, 40.62 TDO), boosted in Rainy weather. A blue Shiny Voltorb awaits!

Hisuian Voltorb (#100, also Kanto region), shares Voltorb's stats (1141 CP, 111 Defense, 109 Attack) and evolution path (Hisuian Electrode). Rewards are the same: 3 candies and 100 Stardust. However, its type matchups differ. It takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison types (160%), and reduced damage from Grass, Steel, Water (63%), and other Electric types (39%). The best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt (5.39 DPS, 37.60 TDO), with weather boosts in Partly Cloudy and Rainy conditions. Spot the Shiny Hisuian Voltorb by its black body!
