People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 21,2025

People Can Fly, renowned for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a new game known as Project Delta. This information comes directly from a report by People Can Fly, which outlines that Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire project, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

The studio is simultaneously juggling a diverse portfolio of projects, each with intriguing codenames. Among them is Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw a reduction of 30 staff members last year. Other projects include Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which appears to be another collaboration with Sony, and the VR-focused Project Bison, recently announced as People Can Fly's last venture into virtual reality.

In recent updates, the studio made the tough decision to suspend Project Victoria last December and scale down Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they also had to cancel Project Dagger, which was planned as an action-adventure game in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly is still actively working on eight known projects. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
