GPU Requirements for 'Monster Hunter Wilds' Potentially Adjusted

Capcom is optimizing Monster Hunter Wilds for improved performance and reduced GPU requirements before launch. This follows feedback from the initial open beta test, which revealed performance issues on PC.

The developer is actively working to enhance the game's performance across all platforms. A recent video showcased improved frame rates on the PS5's Prioritize Framerate mode, suggesting similar enhancements are underway for the PC version. Specifically, Capcom is exploring ways to lower the recommended GPU requirements.

Currently, the minimum GPU requirements are an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT. Success in lowering these requirements would significantly broaden the game's accessibility to players with less powerful hardware.

To aid players in determining system compatibility, Capcom plans to release a free benchmarking tool. This will allow players to assess their PC's capabilities before purchasing the game.

The initial beta test revealed several performance issues, including low-polygon character models and frame rate drops, even on high-end PCs. Capcom acknowledged these concerns and stated that improvements have been made since the beta. A second open beta test is scheduled for February 7-10 and 14-17 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam), but it remains unclear if the latest performance improvements will be included.
