The game director of The Blood Of Dawnwalker explained why he quit CDPR and opened his own studio

Following the releases of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, not all CD Projekt RED veterans remained with the company. Some chose to pursue The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The Blood of Dawnwalker, a recently announced title, is developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a CD Projekt RED veteran.

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, in explaining his departure from CDPR, highlighted several key points:

He desired to pursue different creative avenues with trusted colleagues, leading to the formation of Rebel Wolves. Their shared passion for RPGs and their history fueled a desire to innovate within the genre. They envisioned bold, unconventional approaches. However, convincing a large corporation to embrace such radical changes and new intellectual property proved challenging. Therefore, establishing their own studio became the necessary step to realize their ambitious vision. This innovative approach carries inherent risk.

Unlike larger studios with their complex structures, Rebel Wolves prioritizes direct collaboration and strong interpersonal relationships within its small team. This fosters open communication and streamlined vision alignment, ultimately facilitating a more fluid and passionate creative process. This smaller scale allows for a more intense creative energy and the development of truly unique concepts.
