Fields of Mistria: Unlock the Auto-Petter

Running a livestock farm in Fields of Mistria can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, while the base game doesn't offer an auto-petter, modding provides a solution.

The Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods is your answer. This mod not only automates daily petting but also includes an auto-feeder. Crucially, you'll need the Mods of Mistria Installer to use this mod; it won't work without it.

Here's how to install it:

1. Create a new folder named "Mods" within your Fields of Mistria game files.
2. Download AnimalFriends.zip and place it in the "Mods" folder.
3. Extract the zip file. You can then delete or move the original zip file.
4. Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to install the mod.

The Animal Friends mod offers customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while the loss prevention feature ensures those hearts remain.

To adjust settings, locate AnimalFriends.json within the extracted mod folder. This text file allows you to enable or disable features. Change "false" to "true" to activate, and vice-versa to deactivate.

For the friendship multiplier, instead of "true" or "false," enter a numerical value between 1 and 100. A value of 100 bypasses bonding; setting it to 1 disables the feature.

Note: The mod's default settings initially deactivate auto-petting and auto-feeding, but it does multiply heart gains from petting by five and automatically activates friendship loss prevention.

To remove the mod, use the Mods of Mistria Installer's uninstall function. This prevents potential save file corruption.

Remember to back up your save file before installing any mods. While generally stable, a backup is always a wise precaution.
