Bandai Namco Partners with Rebel Wolves for Upcoming Dark Fantasy Action RPG, Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio comprised of former Witcher 3 developers, has announced a global publishing agreement with Bandai Namco Entertainment for their debut title, Dawnwalker. This AAA action RPG, slated for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, promises a mature, story-driven experience set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe.

Further details on Dawnwalker are anticipated in the coming months. The studio, established in 2022, aims to elevate the RPG genre with its narrative focus. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, highlights the synergy between the studio's vision and Bandai Namco's expertise in narrative-driven RPGs. Bandai Namco views Dawnwalker as a significant addition to its portfolio, strengthening its presence in the Western market. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, emphasizes the collaborative effort to bring this ambitious project to a global audience.

Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a veteran of CD Projekt Red and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, leads the development team. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, also a CDPR veteran, confirms Dawnwalker as a new IP with a scope comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, boasting a non-linear narrative and player agency. Tomaszkiewicz emphasizes the game's design to offer diverse choices and replayability.
