In *Assassin's Creed Shadows*, interacting with different breeds of cats and dogs for the first time as Naoe or Yasuke will unlock them for your Hideout. You can encounter various dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens throughout your journey, including the special stray from the pre-order DLC quest "Thrown to the Dogs."

Yasuke also has the unique ability to unlock small animals such as rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys by painting them in the wild. Once documented, these animals become available for your Hideout.

Additionally, you can purchase farm animals like oxen and goats from vendors across Japan using mon, the in-game currency.
