Rummy 500 scoring involves accumulating points for melded cards and deducting points for unmelded cards (deadwood) remaining in your hand at the end of a round.
Gameplay Highlights:
- Player Count: Supports 2-4 players.
- Deck: A standard deck with jokers.
- Objective: Reach 500 points first. The highest-scoring player wins, even if multiple players reach the target.
- Melds: Create sets (3-4 cards of the same rank) and sequences (3 or more cards of the same suit in order). Card values determine scoring.
- Turns: Each turn involves drawing a card, melding (or adding to existing melds), and discarding a card.
- Jokers: Wild cards usable in any set or sequence.
- Discard Pile: You can pick up one or more discarded cards, but must immediately use the last card played in a meld.
- Card Values: Royalty cards (J, Q, K) are 10 points each. Aces are 11 points (in melds) or a 15-point penalty if held at the end. Jokers take the value of the card they replace, plus a 15-point penalty if held.
- Rounds: The game consists of multiple rounds, with scores accumulating until a player reaches or exceeds 500 points. Ties result in a playoff.
