Wuthering Waves: Elemental Effects, Explained

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 01,2025

Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. While initially serving primarily as character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature directly interactive Elemental Effects. This guide details these effects and their impact.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

Since launch, enemies have applied elemental effects. Version 2.0 expands this to players, with each element possessing a unique status effect:

Elemental Effect Effect Description
Havoc Bane Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. Stacks increase periodically.
Glacio Chafe Reduces movement speed per stack (up to 10 stacks), freezing the resonator at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to speed thawing.
Spectro Frazzle Stacks reduce periodically to deal Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Fusion Burst Stacks up to 10; at 10 stacks, explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal damage; more stacks = more DMG over time.
Electro Flare Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%).

Dodging removes all effect stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited, primarily impacting Spectro Rover and specific Echoes/Echo Sets:

Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:

  • Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle (2 stacks) via Resonating Spin. The Shimmer effect prevents stack decay, allowing continuous buildup.

Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:

  • Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Spectro Frazzle inflicts increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
  • Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix attacks deal 273.60% Spectro DMG, increased by 100% against Spectro Frazzle-afflicted enemies. Provides a 12% Spectro DMG bonus to the equipped Resonator.

While the system is currently niche, future updates may expand the use of Elemental Effects in Wuthering Waves.
