Veilguard: DRM-Free, Showing Faith in Gamers

Good and bad news for Dragon Age: The Veilguard players from BioWare! The game will launch without Denuvo DRM, a decision celebrated by many PC gamers who often experience performance issues with this anti-piracy software. BioWare's project director, Michael Gamble, tweeted, "Veilguard will not have Denuvo on PC. We trust you." This trust, however, comes at a price.

No DRM, No Preload for PC

The absence of Denuvo means no preload for PC players, a significant drawback considering Veilguard's substantial 100GB storage requirement. Console players, however, can preload. Xbox early access players can install now; PlayStation early access begins October 29th. Gamble also confirmed that Veilguard will not require always-online play.

System Requirements Revealed

Alongside the DRM announcement, BioWare released the system requirements. High-end PCs can leverage ray tracing and uncapped frame rates. Minimum specs aim for broad accessibility. Consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) offer fidelity and performance modes targeting 30 and 60 FPS respectively. PC ray tracing requires a powerful setup: Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB RAM, and either an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT.
