Unlocking characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* involves using items known as Prototype Analyzers, which are essential for accessing new characters, except for those obtained through DLC. Our comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of obtaining these analyzers and provide a detailed list of all the playable characters in the game.
You'll receive your first Prototype Analyzer after successfully completing the tutorial, guiding you toward your initial character unlock. To proceed, exit the Acer Program room via the passage on your right, leading you to a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu and choose your desired character.
For subsequent unlocks, return to this room with additional Prototype Analyzers and interact with the platform again. Note that DLC characters, such as Rachel and Hazama as of March 2025, are unlocked automatically upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.
*Entropy Effect* offers multiple ways to acquire more Prototype Analyzers, each requiring time and dedication.
Advancing through the story and completing training missions will unlock gray skills, and reaching specific milestones rewards you with Prototype Analyzers:
Additionally, you'll receive one automatically after a pivotal event in the story, without spoiling any details. Keep in mind, unlocking green skills through Potential does not yield Prototype Analyzers. Unless developer 91Act introduces new methods or skills, the story-related rewards are currently limited to three.
Another method involves earning points through the Mind Challenge mode. You can exchange these points, known as AP, with the janitor for a Prototype Analyzer. However, acquiring these analyzers isn't frequent, as each one costs 5,000 AP.
As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* features 12 characters, with 10 available in the base game and 2 additional characters as paid DLC. Here's how to unlock each character using Prototype Analyzers, excluding the two DLC characters:
Ragna is your typical melee fighter with a unique twist. He excels in close-range combat and gains power as his HP decreases. His special feature allows him to sacrifice health for buffs and then regain some of it by siphoning it from his enemies.
Jin, another melee fighter, specializes in sophisticated swordplay and ice-based skills. He can freeze opponents, and with well-timed combos, he enhances his strength and confuses enemies with his speed.
Noel stands out with her ranged combat capabilities, capable of launching missiles in any direction. Her unique ability shortens skill cooldown times, and she can continue casting skills even after her MP hits zero through Over-Exhaust.
While Taokaka may struggle against heavily armored foes, her versatility in build options is a major strength. Her Spinny Spinny attack can hit multiple times and apply status effects, making any build viable for her.
Hakumen embodies the tank archetype with his slow, sturdy nature and powerful attacks. Successfully blocking enemy attacks allows him to counter with skills at a reduced MP cost, and he can be equipped with a midair attack for versatility.
Lambda-11 is adept at both close and long-range combat, making her highly versatile. She can deal continuous damage to enemies even when not actively attacking and can handle any combat scenario.
Kokonoe is often considered one of the weaker characters in *Entropy Effect*, requiring precise management of lasers and crowd control effects. However, with the right damage-over-time build, she can be very effective.
Hibiki excels at evasion and crowd control, making him a master at keeping enemies at bay. Although not the strongest in raw power, his ability to avoid damage is a significant advantage.
Es is a powerhouse even without unlocking potentials. She can counter after dodging, execute mid-air combos, and possesses crowd control abilities, making her highly versatile and effective.
Mai has a high skill ceiling and can be challenging to master, especially her combos. Her Heavy Attack is a significant asset, but her true strength lies in stringing together combos for maximum damage and mobility.
Rachel is exceptionally overpowered, with speed and the ability to reset her dodge moves, making her nearly untouchable. Her abilities cover wide areas, and one of her moves is nearly impossible for foes to evade, stunning them effectively.
Hazama demands strategic play due to his complex moveset, which can overwhelm players who rely on simple button mashing. Mastering his skills offers a steep learning curve but makes him one of the game's strongest characters.
And that's the complete rundown of all the characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* and how to unlock them.
