Universe for Sale Is a New Visual Novel Set in a Bizarre Bazaar on Planet Jupiter

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Akupara Games has already released several captivating titles this year, including The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.

Is the Universe Actually for Sale?

The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Here, intelligent orangutans manage the docks, and cultists exchange flesh for enlightenment.

The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the remarkable ability to create universes from her hand.

The game begins in a mining colony's ramshackle town. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment—a character both unsettling and captivating.

Exploring the dilapidated colony, filled with quirky tea shops and other unusual establishments, you eventually encounter Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. Lila's enigmatic nature gradually unfolds as you switch between her perspective and the Master's throughout the gameplay.

Playing as Lila allows you to create universes in a mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to produce stunning visual worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the Cult of Detachment's philosophies and interactions with the Church of Many Gods.

The narrative builds as you progress, prompting speculation about the underlying events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration of every corner.
