Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer

If you're an experienced archer, feel free to skip this section. However, if you're new to the class, this is for you. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from your enemies and let your arrows do the talking. While Archers can deal significant damage, they're not built to withstand much in return.

Archers wear Medium armor, which offers more protection than Light armor but less than Heavy armor. Unlike Light armor-wearing classes like Magicians or Priests, Archers lack protective spells or heavy armor. Instead, they depend on others to absorb damage, including fellow players and, crucially, their Pets.

Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. Initially, your pet options might be limited, but as an Archer, you'll eventually gain access to a wide range of pets unavailable to other classes, making Archers incredibly versatile and powerful.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, all classes in Rune Slayer choose a subclass. For Archers, you can opt for either Sharpshooter or Beast Tamer. Without hesitation, choose Beast Tamer when you reach Level 30.

Currently, there's little reason to choose Sharpshooter over Beast Tamer. While firing multiple arrows sounds appealing, you'd miss out on the Beast Tamer's crucial Alpha Predator passive ability. This ability allows you to tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs, which significantly enhance your resilience and power, enabling you to tackle many group activities solo.
