Starfield Mod Adds Star Wars Lightsabers To The Game

Star Wars lightsabers have been introduced to Bethesda's space RPG Starfield by way of an interesting new Creation mod. The Starfield Creation Kit recently went live, allowing PC and console players to make use of other players' creative endeavors, including new features, fun cosmetics, and unique add-ons.

With Starfield introducing a new, expansive sci-fi universe, it's only natural that fans would bring elements from Star Wars to the game in the form of mods. There has already been an impressive array of high-quality Star Wars mods added to Starfield, but with the introduction of Creation Club, Star Wars mods in Starfield have exploded. Some mods add simple cosmetics like Mandalorian armor or Clone Wars-era outfits. Others add a variety of alien types from the Star Wars universe, while other mods go as far as to add AT-ST enemies and iconic blasters from the classic franchise. There's even a Star Wars 1313 mod that adds Boba Fett to the game, giving players a glimpse at what the infamously canceled game could've been like.

Now, Star Wars fans can take their fandom one step further in Starfield with a mod that adds lightsabers to the game. The free Creation Club Immersive Sabers mod, created by SomberKing, brings three melee lightsabers to Starfield: The Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber. The lightsabers come equipped with their iconic sound effects and players will be able to add workbench upgrades and change beam colors. SomberKing also added a new perk for the Sabers as well, letting players enhance their deflection capabilities.

Players won't be the only ones wielding lightsabers, as they can also be found and looted from defeated enemies. Despite lightsabers being made by individual Jedi in the Star Wars universe, having them be produced by in-game weapon manufacturers is a great way of grounding them in Starfield's world. SomberKing's Immersive Sabers page on Creation Club hints that three more lightsabers are being planned for the future, manufactured by Laredo Firearms, Allied Armaments, and Kore Kinetics.

Creation mod support going live and recent updates to the game adding features like city maps and interior ship customization have caused the sentiment surrounding Starfield to grow more and more positive. However, Bethesda's implementation of official paid mods has been called into question, with many fans frustrated by the conclusion of the Trackers Alliance questline being locked behind a paywall. With Shattered Space on the horizon and a deep delve into the shady antics of one of Starfield's most dangerous factions, House Va'ruun, confirmed to be coming soon, Starfield fans have a lot of new content to look forward to this year.
