Announced in early 2022, this untitled strategy game is being crafted by Bit Reactor, a studio formed by veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the XCOM franchise. Bit Reactor has collaborated closely with Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the Star Wars Jedi series, on this exciting new project, and they're now ready to unveil it to fans.

What to Expect from the Star Wars Strategy Game

Although specifics about the game, including its setting within the Star Wars universe and precise gameplay mechanics, remain under wraps, it's safe to speculate that it will draw inspiration from the tactical brilliance of XCOM, infused with the rich lore and iconic elements of Star Wars. Respawn Entertainment, in addition to this project, is also developing the third installment in their Star Wars Jedi trilogy. However, there's no indication that it will be showcased at Star Wars Celebration this year. It's worth noting that Respawn was previously working on another Star Wars game, a first-person shooter rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist, but it was canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA that led to the loss of around 670 jobs. Earlier in March, Respawn also canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project, affecting an undisclosed number of staff.
