Square Enix Unveils PC Features for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's PC Port: A Detailed Look at the Features

A new trailer showcases the impressive features coming to the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, launching January 23rd, 2025. Following a successful PS5 exclusive release in February 2024, PC gamers will finally get their hands on this critically acclaimed title. Square Enix has clearly prioritized a high-quality PC experience.

The trailer confirms support for resolutions up to 4K and frame rates of up to 120fps. Beyond the raw power, expect "improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals," though specifics remain under wraps for now. Players will have control over their visual experience with three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) and the ability to adjust the number of on-screen NPCs, a welcome addition for managing CPU performance.

Key PC Features:

  • Input Options: Full mouse and keyboard support, plus PS5 DualSense controller compatibility with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
  • High-Fidelity Graphics: Up to 4K resolution and 120fps. Improved lighting and enhanced visuals are promised.
  • Performance Tweaks: Three adjustable graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) and NPC count settings for optimized performance.
  • Nvidia DLSS Support: Boost performance with Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling. (Note: AMD FSR support is unconfirmed.)

While the feature list is robust, the lack of AMD FSR support might disappoint AMD GPU users. The game's commercial success on PC remains to be seen, especially considering Square Enix's previous comments on PS5 sales. However, the comprehensive feature set should attract a significant PC audience eager to experience this highly anticipated title.
