HP has opened pre-orders for its 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop, packing the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 HX-series processor and GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Shipping is estimated to begin March 13th. This high-performance machine joins HP's Omen and Omen Transcend lines, likely as the new flagship model.

The launch edition features the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU—a performance-focused chip compared to the efficiency-oriented Core Ultra 9 185H. Other specs include a 16" QHD+ 240Hz display, 32GB DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. This configuration is approximately $500 less than a similarly specced Razer Blade 16.

HP estimates early to mid-March shipping. Note that benchmarks for the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs are not yet available.
