Pokémon Vending Machines Unveiled: Discover Their Offerings and Locations

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 18,2025

Pokémon vending machines are popping up across the US, and Pokémon fans are buzzing! This article answers your burning questions about these automated merchandise dispensers.

What are Pokémon Vending Machines?

These aren't your average snack machines; they're dedicated to Pokémon merchandise, primarily Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products. While not budget-friendly, they offer a convenient way to grab Pokémon goodies.

Initially tested in Washington in 2017, these TCG-focused machines, featuring vibrant colors and clear Pokémon branding, have expanded to various grocery store chains nationwide. The touch-screen interface allows easy browsing and purchasing via credit card, complete with charming Pokémon animations. Digital receipts are emailed, but returns aren't accepted.

What do Pokémon Vending Machines Sell?

US Pokémon vending machines mainly stock Pokémon TCG products: Elite Trainer Boxes, booster packs, and related items. Availability varies; while popular items might sell out quickly, a recent visit revealed a good selection of boosters and older trainer boxes even during a busy holiday weekend. Unlike some Pokémon Center machines in Washington State (which are reportedly being phased out), these generally don't sell plush toys, apparel, or video games.

How to Find a Pokémon Vending Machine Near You

The official Pokémon Center website lists all active US Pokémon TCG vending machines. Currently, machines are in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin. Check the website for a store list within your state. Distribution is currently concentrated in specific cities and partner grocery stores, including Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Frys, Kroger, Pick ‘n Save, Safeway, Smith’s, and Tom Thumb.
