Renowned actor Jon Hamm is closer than ever to making his MCU debut. Hamm, best known for his role in Mad Men, is reportedly in discussions with Marvel about adapting a comic book storyline he's passionate about. He's even proactively pitched himself for multiple MCU roles.

Hamm's history with Marvel adaptations is well-documented. He was previously slated to play Mister Sinister in Fox's The New Mutants, but those scenes were ultimately cut due to the film's troubled production. This near-miss fueled his desire to join the MCU.

A recent Hollywood Reporter profile revealed Hamm's active pursuit of an MCU role. He disclosed pitching himself for a part based on a comic book he admires, securing Marvel's interest in adapting the same story. He boldly declared, "Good. I should be the guy."

Jon Hamm leaning on a fence in Fargo While the specific comic book remains undisclosed, fan speculation runs rampant, with Doctor Doom being a popular choice. Hamm previously expressed interest in the role, further fueling fan excitement. The possibility of him reprising Mister Sinister under Disney's direction also remains open.

Hamm's career is marked by diverse roles, avoiding typecasting. His recent work in Fargo and The Morning Show has solidified his position as a sought-after actor, frequently topping lists of A-listers yet to appear in the MCU.

Despite declining the role of Green Lantern, Hamm remains eager to portray a compelling comic book character. His preference for nuanced roles suggests a villainous part, like Doctor Doom, might be a strong fit. However, Doom's inclusion in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is unconfirmed, with Galactus currently rumored as the main antagonist. Only time will reveal if Hamm's collaboration with Marvel makes it to the screen.
