A recent online video cleverly transforms Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom into Super Mario Galaxy. Released in May 2023, Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild, is the latest mainline entry in the beloved Zelda series. Often compared to other Nintendo hits like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and various Super Mario titles, this fan-made video highlights unexpected similarities.

Reddit user Ultrababouin's "Super Zelda Galaxy" video expertly blends elements from the 2007 Wii classic Super Mario Galaxy, evoking nostalgia among fans. The edit masterfully recreates scenes, including a near-perfect replica of Super Mario Galaxy's iconic opening sequence.

Ultrababouin shared their work on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, a community dedicated to Tears of the Kingdom in-game creations. The month-long project was submitted to the subreddit's June design contest. Ultrababouin is no stranger to the community, having previously crafted a Tears of the Kingdom version of the Master Cycle Zero (from Breath of the Wild) and earning "Engineer of the Month" accolades in December and February.

While the Master Cycle Zero is absent from Tears of the Kingdom, the game's innovative build system allows players to construct vehicles and machines. This has led to incredible creations, including an aircraft carrier capable of launching a functional bomber, built by Hyrule Engineering member ryt1314059.

The next Zelda installment, Echoes of Wisdom, launches September 26th. A notable departure, it features Princess Zelda as the protagonist, rather than the series' usual hero, Link.
