New Magic: The Gathering Cards Revealed for Final Fantasy Set

For fans of Magic: The Gathering eagerly anticipating the upcoming Final Fantasy set, June might seem like a distant horizon. However, to keep the excitement alive, Wizards of the Coast has just unveiled an exclusive sneak peek at over a dozen brand-new cards from the set. This exciting reveal includes iconic characters like Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and many more.

Alongside the previously revealed four commander cards—Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra—this new preview showcases a variety of powerful legendaries, including Sephiroth and Cecil. Fans can also enjoy a fresh take on the Food token's artwork, as well as stunning art variations of cards such as Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and Summon: Shiva. Today's reveal also highlights some of the set's unique features. Among these are Summons, which introduce Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can summon for assistance during battle, as exemplified by Summon: Shiva in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, with Cecil showcasing his dual nature as a Dark Knight and a Redeemed Paladin.

The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards illustrated by beloved artists from the Final Fantasy universe. This highly anticipated set will be fully draftable and Standard-legal, set to launch on June 13. It will also include four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed around different Final Fantasy games: 6, 7, 10, and 14. Each deck will contain 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing ones featuring new Final Fantasy artwork.
