Rome boasts Italy's largest video game museum, GAMM (Game Museum), now open to the public in Piazza della Repubblica. The brainchild of Marco Accordi Rickards – writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus – GAMM reflects Rickards' passion for preserving and celebrating video game history. He describes it as a journey blending history, technology, and interactive gameplay. Building on the legacy of Vigamus, a Rome-based gaming museum that has attracted over two million visitors since 2012, GAMM occupies 700 square meters across two floors.

The museum is divided into three captivating thematic zones:

  • GAMMDOME: A digital playground featuring interactive exhibits and authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. This section follows a "4E" concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • PARC (Path of Arcadia): A nostalgic trip back to the golden age of arcade games, showcasing classics from the late 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s.

  • HIP (Historical Playground): This area delves into game mechanics, design, and structure, offering a behind-the-scenes look at gaming history.

GAMM is open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. Visit the official GAMM website for further details.
