Freedom Wars Remastered immerses players in a gripping dystopian future where they, as Sinners, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. To boost their combat prowess, players have the option to upgrade their weapons and accessories, enhancing their base stats and equipping modules for additional benefits.

Players can begin upgrading their weapons early in the game, eliminating the need to depend solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This comprehensive guide provides detailed instructions on upgrading both weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

To start upgrading weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, players need to advance through the main storyline until they achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners gain access to the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Within the Weapon Development Facility, you can manage and upgrade your arsenal. Upgrades require specific resources and Entitlement Points, but you can reduce these costs by recruiting a Citizen. Various Citizens offer different reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude, making the system user-friendly once you get the hang of it.

Before proceeding with an upgrade, you'll be shown a preview of the changes in your weapon’s stats. The Weapon Development Facility also allows you to add Elements and experiment with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, you must first acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

In the initial phases of the main story, missions often don't yield high-Grade weapons as rewards. While you can buy weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, these are typically limited to Grade Level 1, underscoring the importance of upgrading. One of your CODE 3 Exams necessitates obtaining higher Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing you to enhance any weapon of your choice. You can then keep using your preferred weapon while donating Low-Grade weapons collected during missions to reduce your sentence and earn more Entitlement Points.

The first upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements linked to the upgrading system, which is particularly appealing to trophy hunters. The significant damage disparity between weapons of different Grades incentivizes players to invest time in upgrading their gear.

Later in the game, players can also access the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further enhancing their gameplay experience.
