Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, the face of the Halo franchise (even if hidden behind a helmet), is a highly sought-after skin in Fortnite. Its return to the in-game shop after a two-year hiatus was met with much fanfare, but a small detail soured the celebration.

Initially, an exclusive Matte Black style for the skin was offered only to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The abrupt announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash.

Some players even considered legal action, threatening a class-action lawsuit, believing the change violated established terms. However, Epic Games quickly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style will now be available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X.

This reversal appears to be the wisest move. Given the holiday season and the festive cheer of Christmas, such a controversial decision would have undoubtedly dampened the spirits of many players.
