To embark on your fishing journey in Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll need to unlock the feature first. Head to the Forest Base Camp in the Scarlet Forest, which you'll reach during Chapter 1. Look for Kanya standing beside a pond at the camp. After speaking with her, she will generously provide you with a fishing rod and the Common Wood Minnow lure. This interaction also kicks off the ‘Fishing: Life, in Microcosm’ sidequest, the first of many fishing quests that will unlock various bait lures for catching the rarest fish in the game.
