BioWare shared the exciting news on Twitter (X), promising a series of reveals leading up to launch. "We're thrilled to share this with our fans," they stated, outlining upcoming showcases including high-level warrior combat gameplay and a dedicated Companions Week. Here's the schedule:

A Decade in the Making

Dragon Age: The Veilguard's development has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays spanning almost a decade. The project, initially launched in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, faced numerous challenges. BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resource allocation and development timelines. The initial design, incompatible with the company's live-service strategy, resulted in a complete development halt.

The project, then codenamed "Joplin," was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison." After further development, it was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
