CD Projekt RED veterans reveal "Blood of Dawnwalker"

Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening narrative sequence, introducing a dark fantasy action RPG experience.

Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day timeframe. While time progresses selectively during gameplay, strategic time management is crucial.

Coen faces a critical moral conflict: embrace his humanity or succumb to his vampiric nature. This choice significantly impacts both gameplay mechanics and the narrative's progression. A core mechanic, "Blood Hunger," necessitates regular blood consumption to prevent Coen from losing control and potentially killing key characters, leading to unforeseen consequences.

Players will explore richly detailed environments, with dynamic elements influenced by the time of day. The developers describe the game world as a "narrative sandbox," allowing for extensive player agency and freedom of action.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date has yet to be announced.
