While monsters typically prefer the untamed wilderness, their territorial instincts sometimes lead them to attack nearby villages. In Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll face off against a particularly formidable foe: the rampaging Alpha Doshaguma.

Known Habitats: Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts: Tail and Forelegs
Recommended Elemental Attack: Fire and Lightning
Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items: Flash Pod, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap
Despite its immense size, the Doshaguma possesses surprising agility, making it a challenging target, especially for melee fighters. A Flash Pod provides a crucial advantage by temporarily blinding the beast, creating an opening for attacks or even mounting.
Prioritize attacks on the Doshaguma's forelegs, boasting a 3-star weakness for significant damage. While its hind legs are weaker (2-star weakness), targeting the head (3-star weakness) also yields substantial results. The tail, while less impactful damage-wise, is breakable, providing valuable monster parts.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, fire and lightning are the most effective elements against the Doshaguma. Bowgun users should utilize Flaming and Thunder ammo. Equipping fire-enhancing decorations further boosts your effectiveness. Fire attacks are most potent against the head and torso, while lightning is best focused on the head.
The Doshaguma inflicts Blastblight, a status ailment causing an explosion if the gauge fills or you receive a heavy blow. Counter this with Nulberries or Deodorant, or by performing up to three consecutive dodge rolls.
Don't overlook the environment. The Doshaguma's habitat often includes natural traps. Remember to sheath your weapon before using your slinger and ensure the monster is positioned directly above the trap before activating it.

Instead of outright slaying, consider capturing the Doshaguma. Reduce its HP to 20% or less, then strategically place a Shock or Pitfall Trap. Luring Ammo or meat can help guide the monster into the trap. Once trapped, use tranquilizer ammo (multiple shots may be necessary).
This comprehensive guide covers hunting and capturing the Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds. Remember to enjoy a hearty meal beforehand for beneficial food buffs.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
