The stress test for what might be the eighth and final major patch of Baldur's Gate III has officially kicked off. While some Sony console players got a sneak peek at the patch early, the developers suggest reinstalling the game if you're not keen on testing it out.

Patch 8 brings some exciting updates to the table. One of the standout features is crossplay, which means players on consoles and PC can now join forces in the same game. You can even invite friends from different platforms, as long as you're all linked up with a Larian account. And here's a fun twist: modded gameplay will also support cross-platform play, but there are a couple of catches. All mods used by the PC player need to be available on Mac and consoles too. Plus, the host's lobby can't have more than a double-digit number of mods installed.

Speaking of multiplayer, a feature that many have been eagerly waiting for is now in testing: split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S. This lower-powered console couldn't handle split-screen play before, so this is fantastic news for all Xbox Series S users.

Patch 8 doesn't stop there. It also introduces a photo mode with a plethora of customization options, and 12 new subclasses to add more variety to your gameplay. Larian has also tackled some bugs and rebalanced certain elements, though a few issues still linger. You can find the full list of changes for the stress test on the game's official page.
