A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series, *Alien: Earth*, has surfaced online, giving fans an unprecedented glimpse into the upcoming show. The trailer, initially showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account. It features the harrowing plight of survivors aboard a spacecraft ravaged by a Xenomorph, hurtling towards Earth.

The trailer introduces a new Xenomorph design while staying remarkably true to the aesthetic of Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking 1979 horror classic. The setting mirrors the iconic MU/TH/UR control room from the Nostromo, where Ripley uncovered the terrifying reality faced by her crew.

In the *Alien: Earth* trailer, we see a crew member frantically seeking aid as the Xenomorph closes in. Meanwhile, Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly notes that the "specimens are loose," pronounces the crew as deceased, and directs the ship's course towards Earth. The trailer then transitions to a squad of six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the crash site, setting up a tense confrontation.

The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors, or worse, anyone impregnated by the Xenomorph? And what fate awaits the soldiers?

*Alien: Earth* unfolds as a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth, leading a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers to a discovery that pits them against the planet's greatest threat.

PlayFX’s Alien series is set in 2120, positioned chronologically after *Prometheus* and just before the events of *Alien*. This placement within the Alien timeline has led fans to speculate that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how Weyland-Yutani learned about the Xenomorphs. For context, the interquel *Alien: Romulus* is set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

In January of the previous year, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to diverge from the backstory introduced in *Prometheus* for *Alien: Earth*. Hawley, who favors the "retro-futurism" of the original films, consulted with Ridley Scott about various elements of the Alien series but chose to steer clear of the bioweapon narrative to stay true to the lore of the original films.

*Alien: Earth* is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, *Alien: Romulus 2* is currently in development, promising more thrilling adventures in the Alien universe.
