Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event, featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, this New Year's event offers a fresh wave of festivities.

One of the event's highlights is the chance to earn a whopping 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw. Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit with festive fireworks and decorations enhancing the gameplay experience.

Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon sporting holiday attire. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple wearing a party hat—and don't forget the possibility of encountering their Shiny forms!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover! One-star raids will feature a Pikachu in a snowflake beanie, while three-star raids bring party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are boosted during the event.
